Goodlife Health Clubs have made the difficult decision not to renew our soon-to-be-expired lease at Goodlife Port Melbourne. The club will officially close as of Friday 23rd of August.

We understand this may come as a surprise to our members. With over 80 clubs across Australia, and Goodlife South Melbourne 24/7 under 2km away, Goodlife Health Clubs endeavors to ensure your current training doesn't need to stop.

When will the club close?

Goodlife Port Melbourne will operate until Friday 23rd of August 2019.

What does that mean for me?

With over 86 locations nationwide, including 26 clubs in Victoria, we are confident there will be a Goodlife Health Club near you to suit health and fitness your needs. To ensure this transition is a smooth one, your membership will automatically transfer to the next closest club - Goodlife South Melbourne.

To thank you for your ongoing commitment to Goodlife Health Clubs, your weekly membership fees will be waived from Friday 23rd of August and will commence from Friday 20th September (4 weeks free). Your Goodlife membership will remain active during this period and you will have access to any Goodlife club of your choice - with the closest being Goodlife South Melbourne.

Goodlife South Melbourne, less than 2km away, located at Cecil Street South Melbourne (across from Markets) and is open 24.7. Additionally, we will be offering every member who continues their training a free health consultation and fitness program to help get you started at your new club.

Transfer to a different club
If you would prefer to transfer your membership to a different Goodlife club, please contact the Goodlife Port Melbourne team prior to August 23 and you may transfer to any club of your choice at no cost to you (usually $65).

I am a Port Melbourne home club member - what will happen to my membership?

Automatic transfer of membership to Goodlife South Melbourne
Your membership will automatically transfer to Goodlife South Melbourne. You won’t need to do anything, your current membership term and weekly dues will remain the same.

You will have the added bonus, exclusive to members with Port Melbourne listed as their home club, of receiving 4 weeks free from Friday 23rd of August to Friday 20th September, where you can train at any club as a thank you for your ongoing commitment to Goodlife. If during this time, you decide to cancel your membership Goodlife will honour your immediate cancellation. Otherwise, after the 4 weeks, your membership terms and dues will continue as normal.

You will also receive a complimentary 24/7 access pass (valued at $19) so you can train any time of the day or night.
Additionally, we will be offering every member who continues their membership a free health consultation and fitness program to help get you started at your new club.

I am a Port Melbourne All Clubs member - what will happen to my membership?

Automatic transfer of membership to Goodlife South Melbourne with continued access to All Clubs.  You won’t need to do anything, your membership will be transferred to Goodlife South Melbourne as your “home club,” however you will continue to have access to all clubs nationally. All your current membership terms and weekly dues will remain the same. You will have the added bonus,  exclusive to members with Port Melbourne listed as their home club of receiving 4 weeks free from Friday 23rd of August to Friday 20th September, where you can train at any club as a thank you for your ongoing commitment to Goodlife.

If during this time, you decide to cancel your membership Goodlife will honour your immediate cancellation. Otherwise, after the 4 weeks, your membership terms and dues will continue as normal. You will also receive a complimentary 24.7 access pass (valued at $19) so you can train any time of the day or night. Additionally, we will be offering every member who continues their membership a free health consultation and fitness program to help get you started at your new club.

I have paid up front in advance for my membership, what will happen to my remaining membership?

Your membership will continue as normal and your membership will automatically transfer to Goodlife South Melbourne 24.7 where you can continue to train as normal.

You will also receive an added 4 weeks free at the end of your membership as a thank-you for your ongoing commitment to Goodlife.

If you’d like your membership to continue at different club, please contact Goodlife Port Melbourne and they will look after you.

If you cannot find another club that suits your needs, please contact Goodlife reception (Port Melbourne prior to 23 August, South Melbourne post 23 August) about your cancellation options, refunds will also be issued accordingly for the remaining membership time.

Can I cancel my membership down now?

The current terms and conditions of your membership remain in place until Friday 23rd August. If you do not wish to transfer to Goodlife South Melbourne or any Goodlife club, you can contact our friendly staff at Port Melbourne and set your membership to finish on Friday 23rd August.

Before you decide to say your final goodbye, you will have an added bonus of 4 weeks free between Friday 23rd of August to Friday 20th September, where you can train at any club as a thank you for your ongoing commitment to Goodlife. If during this time, you decide to cancel your membership Goodlife will honour your immediate cancellation.

When will my direct debit payments stop?

If you do not choose to cancel your membership, your membership will automatically transfer over to Goodlife South Melbourne and you will receive 4 weeks free from Friday 23rd of August to Friday 20th September .

If you do decide to cancel your membership, your direct debits will cease on Friday 23rd of August, with the final amount being a pro-rata amount.

Will the facilities and classes still run as usual until closure?

Yes, we encourage you to continue to utilise all the services at Goodlife Port Melbourne until Friday 23rd of August.

I have a personal trainer, what will happen with my payments to my PT?

Please contact your PT if you have any further questions and they will be happy to assist you.

I’m an “All Clubs Member” from another club and utilise Port Melbourne - what are my options?

Your current terms and conditions of your membership remain in place. Goodlife have an extensive network of over 86 clubs nationwide. You will be able to continue to access these clubs and all their services on your Goodlife All Clubs Membership.

What will happen to the staff at Goodlife Port Melbourne?

Wherever possible, we intend to provide as many suitable job redeployment opportunities within the Goodlife business.

 

FOR HYPOXI MEMBERS ONLY

I’m a current HYPOXI member - what does the club closure mean for me?

We close on the Friday 23rd August, the same date as the club, so it’s business as usual up until Friday 23rd of August. We are currently in the process of identifying potential sites for a brand new studio close by and our hope is that you can transfer straight across with minimal interruption to your sessions. Alternately, we have other studios within the HYPOXI network that you may wish to transfer your remaining sessions to.

What if I don’t want to transfer to a new studio? Can I cancel my HYPOXI membership when the studio closes?

Please contact HYPOXI Port Melbourne by Friday 23rd of August, and we can look at options for you to transfer or be cancelled, free of charge.

Can I cancel my membership down now?

Your current terms and conditions of your membership remain in place until Friday 23rd of August. If you do not wish to transfer to another Goodlife HYPOXI Studio, you can contact Hypoxi Port Melbourne and we can set your membership to cancel as of Friday 23rd of August to take full advantage of sessions until this time.

I’ve paid for my HYPOXI sessions in full. If I choose to cancel, will I receive a refund?

If you have paid in full for your sessions, and don’t wish to transfer to another Goodlife HYPOXI studio, we will refund accordingly without any admin or cancellation fees. Please speak to the HYPOXI Port Melbourne team to work through your options for a refund before the 23rd August.
